Why?

Posted on May 6, 2013 at 1:30 PM Comments comments (0)

I find myself most often needing to know the "why" of things. You may have this habit too. Quite often we wrestle with the question too long and far to hard especially in the many cases when there just isn't any aparent "why" that will satisfy.

For those of us that are wrestling this right now or will come into the struggle soon, I want to share this that I have found:

I lay my "Whys" before your Cross

In worship kneeling, my mind to numb for thought.

My he...

No News Is Good News... so they say

Posted on May 6, 2013 at 1:10 PM Comments comments (0)

An old Adage goes like this: "No news is good news"

You yourself have probably heard this more than once and said it more than a couple of times. This adage continues and is current with our times.

All secular news channels and outlets have plenty to announce and for the most part its "bad news". Staying informed is one thing, but constantly feeding on it is another. It does nothing but deplete us then fill us with doubt and fear!

Psalm 64 contraststhe wicked and...

Spring, the Easter Season

Posted on March 30, 2013 at 2:50 PM Comments comments (1)

This first day of Spring I gaze out my window, hoping to find a "visible" sign of new life!

Through the still leafless trees I see a cross, yes a cross! Painted bright red, its stands out vividly against the stark "lifeless" backdrop of the trees. The cross stirs my heart and my thoughts center on Him, Jesus; How magnificent was (is) the gift of New Life through the blood of the Sacrificial Lamb, how unworthy we were (are) until His divine mercy was ...

Sorrowful, yet always rejoicing

"Days pass when I simply forget because so many "problems" jostle for my attention and then, once more the quiet mystery is present and despite everythingand anything else, I find Him once more." - author unknown

Our life's journey is marked by doubt and questioning and yet our heart reveals a deepening awareness of Him and His divine mercy and grace. Be content to accept things you cannot understand - wait patiently. In His time He will reveal the riches of the glory of the...

More Satisfied in Him

Posted on March 23, 2013 at 4:50 PM Comments comments (0)

This winter has been cold, dark, bleak, and my heart is lonesome for springtime and all the joy it brings!

It should not be, but the Lord just seems more present in a sense when the glory of His creation is more visible and active... of course I know He has been with me even in the cacoon of winter, but I can't help sometimes feeling this way.

A friend of mine testified to me just the other morning that "God is most glorified when we are most satisfied in Him."

And so it sho...

God Keeps on Giving

Posted on March 6, 2013 at 11:45 AM Comments comments (0)

Snowflakes are coming down thick and fast but as soon as they touch the ground they "splat" and disappear, smoke curls from the chimney then "poof" it dissapates into thin air.

Alot of things in life are like that; they come and go, something is given then taken away.

But God keeps on giving! He meets our daily needs. There is never a time when we are seperated from His concern! Believe on Him and receive His promises!

"...for God knoweth the way of the righteous...

Live in REALITY

Posted on February 27, 2013 at 10:45 AM Comments comments (0)

Splashes of rain on my window distorts my view, I can barely see the tiny snowflakes swirling about! I wonder how much of our lives are lived with a distorted view?

Mark Twain once said, "Don't part with your illusions, for when they are gone you may still exist, but you will have ceased to live."

"Illusions", according to Webster is a "False perception, conception, or interpretation of what one sees."

We are not to practice falsehood and we're not to escape reality thinking...

Tangled Lives

Posted on February 19, 2013 at 3:30 PM Comments comments (0)

It is such a comfort to drop the tangles of life into God's hands and let Him do the untangling.

It's like handing over to a "master weaver" a tangled mess of yarn that seems impossible for you to undo and watching it become a beautiful tapestry.

God, the Master Weaver can make a a beautiful tapestry of your life... in Him, for Him, through Him. Amen!

The Problem with Pleasant Seasons

Posted on February 18, 2013 at 9:40 PM Comments comments (0)

I read somewhere that pleasant seasons can cloud the reality that we are dependant upon God and we become "self-confident".

He allows these grey and dreary seasons in our lives so that we draw near to Him!

Today, is one of those days... and yet in the dead of this winter's silence, I hear that still small voice saying, "Because of Him, all is well."

"Sorrow and Silence are strong and patient, but endurance is God Like"...

Obedience Is The Key

Posted on February 16, 2013 at 9:35 PM Comments comments (0)

If you want to get your prayers through to God, then surrender your stubborn will to Him!

Stubborn will!? ...Who me!?

Simply by asking the question, the answer is an affirmative and definate "Yes; You!"

Obedience is the Master's key to effective prayer!

"I waited patiently for the Lord and He inclined unto me and heard my cry." (Psalm 40:1) NKJV
