As I was talking with a sister in Christ, we shared a mutual feeling; we were both seeking the Lord in a deeper way and yet felt something was lacking.
How so? We pondered!
A few days later the Holy Spirit answered – “When we are seeking Him with a passionate heart, to follow and obey, to become more like Him, we will be content and fulfilled, yet there will always be a longing – a yearning, for “oh, so much more!”
We should never reach a plateau in which we feel “this is it, this is all there is.” (Which is where we thought we wanted to be, or where we would get to) where we’ve reached the highest point attainable on our journey. This is the wonder and joy of an intimate relationship with our Lord, our awesome unfathomable God, whose depths and heights can ever be reached!
In fact, He doesn’t want us to remain in one place, but continue on the “upward path” becoming more and more like Him. Even a vague sense of discontent within our soul can be calmed by making Jesus Christ our highest priority.
This “discontent” that drives us serves God then doesn’t it!?
Let nothing then, hinder us from our pursuit!
“When you walk, your steps will not be hindered, and when you run, you will not stumble.” (Prov 4:12) NKJV
